Seven Principles of Effective Leadershp

In my more than three decades of management experience, I have learned that effective leadership is essential to staff development.  I have learned that a company has no greater asset than its people.  The people who work in a company can make or break the company. Over my 33 year career, I have identified Seven Prinicples of Effective Leadership.

I began my career in management the first day after I graduated from college and I have been in management every day since then – 33 years!  Throughout my career, I have learned that there is an enormous difference between good managers and good leaders.  There is certainly a role for outstanding managers.  They are critical to the success of every company.  However, to succeed at the highest levels of an organization, outstanding managers need to learn how to become effective leaders.

Into Action

These Seven Principles of Effective Leadership have been developed throughout the course of my more than three decades of experience.  I put these seven principles to the test between 2006 and 2012.  During the economic meltdown, I was the CEO of a $96.0M healthcare enterprise.  We grew consistently, even during the meltdown.  By the time I left that position, our company had grown to 900 employees and over $200.0M in revenue!
